New VAH requirements and methods for the certification of chemical disinfection procedures
Since December 31st, 2015, the “Association for Applied Hygiene” (Verbund für Angewandte Hygiene, VAH) does not accept tests carried out according to the previous standard methods anymore. Certificates with old test reports requested after this date will only be issued with a limited certificate term until December 31st, 2018. Re-certifications demand two test reports issued by independent and accredited test laboratories and will be issued with a normal certificate term of three years if at least one report meets the new requirements as of April 2nd, 2015. Exception: If test figures change, two completely new reports must be submitted. After the successful certification, the disinfectant will be mentioned at the VAH list for three years – this is especially relevant for marketing purposes. Attention: The proofs of concept demanded by VAH frequently align with European standards, but VAH additionally demands further control experiments for specific efficacy statements.
